Nina Kristin Snyder holds a Master’s degree in Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the University of Oslo, where she received a special scholarship for her research on reparations after the civil war in Sierra Leone. Originally from Stavanger, and a former student of ISS and MUNer enthusiast, she has worked across Africa, Europe, and Latin America on how natural resources, energy, and the oceans can be managed in ways that respect human rights and promote sustainable development.
Nina is a Senior Adviser at Norad, Norway’s development agency, where she coordinates international cooperation on oceans and aquatic food, and has helped build partnerships with countries like Ghana, Colombia and Cuba. Earlier, she was a diplomat at the Norwegian Embassy in Accra, responsible for Norway’s support to renewable energy in Liberia, including the rehabilitation of the Mt. Coffee hydropower plant after the civil war. She has also worked with post-conflict reconstruction and human rights in Sierra Leone, and with the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva.
