Delegates are expected to be fully informed of their countries policy regarding both topics of debate. It may also be useful to be aware of your allies and enemies for lobbying and later debate purposes.
It is expected that delegates come with pre-prepared clauses, both preambulatory and operative. You are more than welcome to write clauses during conference hours, but it is significantly easier to merge clauses than it is to write new ones on the spot.
Please bring the required technology for debate. SCANDMUN uses the Google ecosystem (Google Docs, Google Forms, Google Sites, etc) for all parts of procedure. Don't forget a charger if needed, we will have outlets available for charging. Phones are not to be used during debate.
Paper note cards are provided at SCANDMUN. Please bring your own pens/pencils to write on the note cards.
SCANDMUN follows a Western Business Attire. For more information and possible inspiration, please check out this link.
Security Council delegates are the only delegates required to prepare a very short, informal opening speech on their policy (30-60 sec). The delegates should be very well-versed in their stances and come with clauses ready. Considering the SC is only 15 nations, it is expected that these delegates are ready to debate.
