Dear delegates, organisers, guests, and members of the MUN community, 

On behalf of the Student Officers, it is my pleasure to invite you to the 10th anniversary of the Scandinavian Model United Nations conference. We are excited to welcome you for what we hope will be an inspiring and thought-provoking event, where global issues and creative solutions are presented by future leaders of diplomacy. 

Undoubtedly, we are living through times of high tension and pressure. Now, perhaps more than ever, we turn to diplomacy in order to collaborate and find ways to solve our issues. The UN is one such organisation that allows us to manage the chaos of war, crises, and progress. Our simulation, in turn, gives students the opportunity to explore the situations through different angles, and most importantly develop skills that are essential for leadership in the 21st century. 

SCANDMUN was my first ever conference which means I am aware of the challenges that participants may be faced with. Therefore, we aim to offer varying levels of difficulty ranging from complete beginners to the most advanced speakers. This year, we hope to uphold our level of quality while growing our number of participants with the brand new Human Rights Council. 

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated team of chairs, admin, organisers and teachers that make this event possible. This conference requires an immense amount of collaboration, coordination, and effort from countless members of our talented community. They truly work hard to make sure that this is a rewarding experience for every delegate. 

As we embark on this exciting event, I encourage you to approach every problem with an open mind and a willingness to participate. Remember that diplomacy is not only about reaching a compromise, but about understanding and respecting the perspectives of others. So please, take this opportunity to learn, grow, and have some fun! Let’s make SCANDMUN 2025 a memorable one!
